johnkey

Just before Christmas my son went on a playcentre visit to Parliament. He came back with a tourist map and and excitedly pointed out all the sights including the statue of Richard Seddon, in the middle of Parliament’s lawn.

“That man used to be in charge,” he told me as he showed me where the statue is located. “But he died and now we have johnkey [*all one word, rhymes with donkey*]. He knows all the rules and looks after the flag.”

Heh.

  1. What a charmingly perspicacious child 🙂

I can forsee many more gems of wisdom out of the mouth of that one, soon.

Perhaps someone could just customise Key’s cast with a fresh flag, then all he’d have to do is raise his arm, in the time-honoured salute …
Totally reckon he’d do it without thinking twice, too!
